CLERGY & STAFF

THE REV. DR. JUSTIN E. CRISP

PRIEST IN CHARGE

Father Justin is our priest in charge and leads our church spiritually and administratively. He loves his wife Jewelle, his dog Val, good food, good music, good wine, and everything else that reminds him of how crazy undeserved are all the best things in life – grace! He is overjoyed by the good news that in Jesus, God has made everything okay (even him), and has devoted his life to trying to let everyone know. He thinks it’s okay to think seriously about God and to ask tough questions of Christian faith. He is a theologian by training and has degrees from the University of Tennessee, Yale Divinity School, Berkeley Divinity School at Yale, and the Yale Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. He teaches part-time at Yale as a lecturer in Anglican Studies, and works closely with students training to be lay and ordained leaders in the Episcopal Church. He came to us from St. Mark’s Church in New Canaan, where he served as an assistant for ten years. He lives with Jewelle and Val at the rectory on the holy hilltop, and besides the Lord, his passions include clam chowder, New England autumn, Ina Garten, the New York Mets, and the music of Wagner, Mozart, and Mahler.
