St. Barnabas is an exciting place to be these days. We are actively involved in worshiping, growing, serving, and enjoying the life we share in this peaceful
and beautiful setting.
The Rev. Edward (Ted) Pardoe has been selected by the Vestry and Calling Committee as our new Rector.
Ted comes to us from Grace Church in New York City where he was Assistant Rector. He had a significant impact there and we are delighted that he has agreed to come to us. Ted has experience outside parish life having worked at the Interfaith Center of New York City and previously as a banker with Brown Brothers Harriman. His undergraduate degree is from Trinity College in Hartford, his Master of Divinity from Union Theological Seminary in 2005 and his Master of Sacred Theology from General Theological Seminary in 2009.
Ted will live in the rectory with his wife Helen who has extensive experience in teaching young people. They have four children, a son in boarding school, a son in college and two adult daughters. Ted will take office on June 4th.
Important as these specifics are, the most important thing we can communicate is how very impressed the Calling Committee and Vestry are with Ted's deep spiritual commitment, his love of parish work and his ability to touch the lives of others. Ted is a unique individual who will lead us, encourage us and challenge us. As he said, his mission is:
“To live into my radical amazement of God, to love and serve others with the grace and love of God, Christ Jesus and the Holy Spirit, choosing life and seeking the kingdom through the narrow gate.”

Newcomers and visitors should know that our parishioners span the breadth of the Episcopal Church in their understandings of God and Jesus Christ and the many ways in which they live out their faith. We are a community of people of many ages and backgrounds. Many became Episcopalians in childhood. Many grew up in other faiths and denominations, discovering the Episcopal Church in adulthood. However, we all share in our sense of connection with God through the Holy Eucharist and a desire to take all that we receive from God from the altar into the world.
Here at St. Barnabas our worship is grounded in the earliest history of the Christian church, and a sense that as we go through life we want to be growing and changing ourselves, becoming more the person God created us to be and serving God as we serve others. We share in a spiritual journey—one that brings us continually closer to the Holy, to Christ. We support each other and care for and about each other as we journey together in a constantly and rapidly changing world.
Won't you join us in worshiping here at St. Barnabas some Sunday?
